A film; Saving Private Ryan

Saving Private Ryan, 1998

One of my absolute favourites when it comes to war films. The landing intro is epic and will go to the film history as one of the most provocative and horrible ever made. The sense of being there and documentary quality is outstanding. Tom Hanks is the top name in this film but other well known names are Matt Damon and Ted Danson, although in much smaller parts. Vin Diesel and Tom Sizemore are doing great parts as well, the latter known from films like Blackhawk down. Everybody knows war is hell but this film takes the medium one step further I think. I'm cold and mizerable when they're wet from rain, I duck when they're shot at and I cry a bit when they die.

Highly recommended.
